There is a heavy fire in an industrial area on Stallbackavägen in Trollhättan.
An important notice to the public, VMA, is issued.
– There has been a VMA outside, because the smoke from the fire should not be good to breathe in, says Peter Adlersson, press spokesperson at the police.
According to the emergency services, the fire broke out in a facility where waste is sorted.
It’s lithium batteries that burn, says Patrik Karlsson, duty officer at the rescue service The Express.
A VMA – Important Public Notice – has been issued and people in the area are being asked to go indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation.
Personnel from several different fire stations are on site to fight the fire.
Oh, my God. There are probably five or six stations anyway, says Patrik Karlsson TTELA.
“We know no end time”
The police are also at the scene.
– We are assisting the rescue service and have blocked off all entrances to the area where the fire is, says Peter Adlersson, press spokesperson at the police.
Now work continues at the site and it is not yet known when the fire can be expected to be extinguished.
– The rescue service will continue for a longer period of time. We don’t know an end time. We have no information about personal injuries.
