The outcome of the election may affect US support for Ukraine
The result of the US midterm elections may also have an impact on the country’s support for Ukraine. So far, the United States has supported Ukraine under the leadership of President Joe Biden with billions of dollars.
Republicans hinted before the election that the era of so-called “blank checks” may soon be over.
‘s NATO correspondent Mika Hentunen estimates in ‘s morning that the share of so-called maga candidates can affect how the country helps Ukraine in the future. Hentunen has previously worked as ‘s U.S. correspondent.
The term maga refers to those Republican candidates who have disputed the results of the 2020 United States election. According to current information, more than a hundred such candidates are about to be elected in the elections.
Currently, the Republicans are gaining a majority in the House of Representatives. As for the Senate, the situation is very tight between the parties.
However, Hentunen reminds that, according to recent opinion polls, there is surprisingly high support for supporting Ukraine in the country.
