Several to hospital after gas accident in Götene

Several people have been taken to hospital by ambulance after a gas leak at Dafgårds in Källby in Götene municipality on Wednesday morning. At the moment, there are five people who need hospital care, local media reports.

According to Nya Lidköpings-Tidningen, chemical divers have entered the building and found the substance that caused the workplace accident.

– It is a detergent that the company uses and this has been mixed in a tub. In the tub, there has then been a chemical reaction which in turn has caused dangerous gas to form, says Stefan Johansson, internal commander at social protection in central Skaraborg to the newspaper.

The extent of the damage is unclear and it is also unclear if more employees need treatment due to the gas leak.
