Several shot at the Super Bowl parade

Several people have been shot at the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, one person is dead.
The police say that two armed people have been arrested.
– When the shooting started, I did just like many others and ran, says Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas.

Thousands of people had gathered at Union Station, which hosted the American football team Kansas City Chiefs, who won the Super Bowl on Sunday.

– We are gathering information on the number of injured and their location, but we know that one of the victims has died, says Stacey Graves, police chief in Kansas City.

As the supporters were leaving the square in front of the Union Station train station in Kansas City Missouri, several shots were fired. The shooting reportedly occurred near a garage while people were leaving the scene, reports ABC News.

– At the end of the parade, shots were fired in the western part of Union Square. The police responded immediately and were able to arrest two people. Several police officers also provided life-saving care to the injured, says Stacey Graves.

People fled in panic and a large number of police patrols and emergency vehicles headed to the scene.

Two gunmen arrested

“People are asked to leave the area as quickly and safely as possible and avoid the parking garage to facilitate the treatment of the injured,” the police write on X.

Two gunmen have been arrested by Kansas City police. Witnesses to the shooting are asked to come forward to report what they saw. According to ABC News, a large number of shots must have been fired.

– We have received calls from the White House, which has offered federal support in the investigation, says Mayor Quinton Lucas.

Missouri Governor Laura Kelly writes on the X that she has been evacuated from the scene and urges the public to follow calls from the police.
