The police have attacked nine addresses in Stockholm and seized computers and other storage media suspected of containing sexual abuse against children, police say in a press release.
It is an international effort where people are suspected to have bought access to documented sexual abuse against children at Darknet.
The operation was initiated by the German police who had discovered a streaming service at Darknet. The service, which has now been closed down, consisted of 50,000-60,000 films on children who are subjected to sexual abuse.
– It takes a solid and careful work to go through all the material. The main focus is to identify new plaintiffs and cancel ongoing abuse, says Victoria Österberg at ISÖB in a statement.
A total of 16 out of more than 1,000 users were linked to Sweden. The suspects are residents in Hägersten, Haninge, Sollentuna, Sundbyberg and Upplands Väsby.
