Several new names in Jon Dahl Tomasson’s very first national team squad as Swedish national team captain – here are all the selected players

Jon Dahl Tomasson has made his first national team squad as Swedish national team captain. Among those selected were a couple of new names, such as striker Gustaf Nilsson, former Elfsborger Jacob Ondrejka and AIK’s midfielder Anton Saletros.

Jon Dahl Tomasson presented a total of 26 players in the squad to be assembled early next week. He didn’t offer a lot of surprises, but some players get the chance that wasn’t part of before Janne Andersson’s national team.

As Jacob Ondrejka:
– He has done really well since he was injured in Royal Antwerp. I think he’s scored five goals in the last six games. He can play on the right, left and in the middle – very flexible, says Jon Dahl Tomasson at the press conference.

The 47-year-old Dane also commented on a couple of the other new additions to the squad.
– Anton (Salétros) has done well for a longer period in AIK, so he is a player that I want to watch. Simon Olsson in Heerenveen has played pretty much every game, a good combination player.

However, young talents such as Lucas Bergvall and Roony Bardghji, which has been part of the speculation ahead of the squad selection. Both are instead in the U21 national team’s squad.
– They have extreme talent and a lot of potential, says Tomasson, who has had time to talk to many players since he took up the post on March 1.
– You feel that the players want to be part of this journey.
