Several municipalities are considering postponing bills – if the situation worsens

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Valdemarsvik:

“It may come up if the situation worsens, but we haven’t talked about it yet. We also don’t have an energy company within the municipality, so in that case it wouldn’t be about the electricity bill,” says Per Hollertz, chairman of the municipal board (M).

Fine thread:

“It is not something we have discussed at the moment. It could come up, but at the same time we have a rather difficult financial situation for the municipality as well,” says Mats Annerfeldt, chairman of the municipal board (S).

Mjölby:

“We have not taken any special decision in this situation. However, we always have the direction that if a citizen has payment difficulties, we want them to contact us, so we try to find solutions together through, for example, an installment plan,” says Cecilia Burenby, chairman of the municipal board (S).

Åtvidaberg:

“We raised the issue yesterday in the management group. But we have not taken a position on one or the other, but are waiting because we have not received any clear signals that there is a need for this. Then we get to follow up this discussion one by one,” says Thomas Lidberg, chairman of the municipal board (S).

Motala:

“We are having a dialogue about this but no decisions have been made,” says Mark Hermansson, chairman of the municipal board (M).

Boxholm:

“I noted that Staffanstorp decided on it and actually passed the matter on to our municipal director for further discussion. We haven’t come any further than that, says Claes Sjöqvist, chairman of the municipal board (S).

Norrköping:

The municipal director is currently reviewing the possibilities for the residents to apply for deferrals regarding certain bills. She now talks in the morning with the pre-school administration and the administration for care and social care, says Sophia Jarl, chairman of the municipal board (M).

Linköping:

“At the moment, we have no plans to let the municipal residents wait to pay their bills due to the financial situation, but we are closely following the development,” says Katarina Edlund, chairman of the municipal board (S).

Peer:

“We have not discussed it. We follow the development and in that case it is a question of developing livelihood support. There is always a danger in delaying payments. They must be paid sooner or later,” says Christer Segersteen, chairman of the municipal board (S).

Doomsday:

“Currently, we have not received any more requests regarding postponement of invoices or bills from the residents of Ödeshög. If this becomes a current issue here with us, we will take it on a case-by-case basis,” says Jonas Andersson, chairman of the municipal board (M).

The chairman of the municipal board on Gotland, in Söderköping, Vadstena, and Ydre has not responded to our survey.
