Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Several districts within MUF are now demanding Douglas Thor’s resignation after the vote coup attempt. Kalmar, Värmland, Jämtland, Uppsala and Gävleborg all want to see the chairman step aside – and several other districts are discussing the issue. – This has hurt confidence in MUF enormously, both internally and externally, says Emelie Taimi, chairman of MUF Gävleborg. TV4 News’ revelation about how Moderate Youth Association chairman Douglas Thor tried to buy votes in an attempt to poke Jämtland’s district chairman Carl-Oscar Fransson has stirred up feelings within the party. Now several districts are calling for his resignation. Kalmar, Värmland, Jämtland and Gävleborg and Uppsala have already decided that Douglas Thor’s trust is spent. In several districts around the country, the issue is now being discussed. – It is deeply unfortunate that a union chairman has chosen to organize a coup attempt in a district. It has hurt confidence in MUF enormously, both internally and externally, says Emelie Taimi, chairman of MUF Gävleborg. “Muf deserves better” After TV4 Nyheterna’s disclosure, the Moderates have launched an internal investigation to bring clarity to what happened in the youth party. – It is very important that an internal investigation has been established, says Emelie Taimi, who hopes that Douglas Thor will step aside. – I don’t see the way forward with him as union chairman. I want the best for Muf and think that Muf deserves better, she says. The incident has created an internal conflict in Muf. The chairmen of the Skaraborg and Jönköping districts have publicly stated that they want Douglas Thor to remain in office. – Douglas has apologized and said he has reasons for his actions. He has asked for an internal investigation. We have full confidence in Douglas and it is important that you respect the internal process, says Sam Kharazmi, district chairman in Jönköping. Douglas Thor himself has announced that he will not resign.
