Six people have died after heavy rain caused flooding in Thailand.
Tens of thousands of people have had their homes flooded after several days of intense rain in southern Thailand. Images from the region show roads covered in muddy water and people seeking shelter on rooftops. In some places the water had risen three meters.
Aid workers have distributed water bottles and food to the affected during the night. According to the Thai emergency management agency, the water level has dropped during the morning and part of the train service, which was suspended as a result of the floods, has resumed.
The rainy season in Thailand usually means months of daily flooding, but according to scientists, climate change is causing rainfall to become more intense.
