Several dead in Israeli attacks in the West Bank

At least ten Palestinians have been killed in Israeli raids and air strikes on the West Bank since Wednesday morning, according to the Red Crescent. At least 22 people are said to have been injured in the attacks.

According to Hamas, the dead must have been fighters for the group, AP writes.

Early on Wednesday, Israel launched coordinated attacks in four cities in the northern West Bank – Jenin, Nablus, Tubas and Tulkarem – but also against two established refugee camps.

“Anti-Terrorist Operation”

According to the head of the aid organization in the West Bank, Younes al-Khatib, one of the organization’s employees was injured in the attack when ambulances came under Israeli fire.

Israel’s military on Wednesday confirmed nine deaths and called the raids an anti-terror operation.

Israeli raids in the West Bank are not unusual, but they are rarely targeted at multiple locations simultaneously in this way.
