At least six people died in their homes when an earthquake in western Nepal struck at 2 a.m. local time, causing homes in their mountain village in Doti district to collapse.
The tremor was also felt in New Delhi, India, about 400 kilometers west of the epicenter.
Security forces have been deployed to assist with rescue efforts in several hard-to-reach villages. The quake is estimated to have had a magnitude of between 5.7 and 6.6.
