The snow that fell overnight on Wednesday had an immediate effect on traffic.
At 07:48, the emergency services were called to E4 at the height of Sörmjöle, where a car had driven into the ditch in the northbound lane. The lane had to be closed temporarily, but there are no reports of injuries.
A while later, at 08.01, the emergency services were called to central Vännäsby where two cars had collided. Three people were traveling in the cars, but no one is said to have been injured.
Many calls to the emergency services
However, most of this morning’s departures have not required any intervention from the emergency services.
– There have been a bunch of calls from Umeåhåller this morning about cars that have slid off the road, but often it’s someone who calls in who hasn’t stopped at the scene and seen how it went and then we haven’t gone out. It’s slippery outside, says Filip Ek at rescue center north.
