After the movement #MeToo, the Orpéa nursing home scandal or cases of abuse of disabled people, the government has launched a vast project to better target the fight against abuse. Abuse of weakness, harassment, sexual assault, violence… Intentional or not, mistreatment is everywhere in our society and too rarely denounced.

With the help of this report, the Minister of Solidarity and Family, Aurore Bergé, wants to simplify reporting: “ Today it’s very complicated when you are a victim of abuse or when you witness abuse, to say to yourself, “to whom may I address ? Is it the police or the gendarmerie? Do I go directly to the judge? Will I file a complaint? Who do I talk to about it?“. »

Clarify ” responsibilities »

So there alreadysaid the French minister, it means ensuring that responsibilities are finally clarified with a real circuit for reporting mistreatment, which did not exist before. And, finally, with a single entry point per department which will be with the regional health agencies precisely to avoid chaos with the risk that reports are lost, that families give up, that people directly concerned give up. »

In the coming weeks, several proposals emanating from this report should be the subject of a bill. While 70% of French people say they are worried about the risk of mistreatment for themselves or for a loved one.
