Everything starts when the boy is seven years old and has just started school in Helsingborg.
The mother accuses the father of having abused the son.
The alleged abuses are investigated for two months before the investigation is closed by prosecutors. There was no reason to “assume that crimes had been committed”.
It is now the real nightmare begins for the boy and his dad.
The social secretary who handles the case is still convinced that the father has committed the abuse.
– Those from the social services felt frustrated that there was no information on the part of the boy. Disappointment could be said that they expressed, says Johan Karlsson, child investigator at the Helsingborg police, in SVT: S “Assignment Review”.
Instead, the social service comes with new charges. Now it is the 7-year-old who is identified as a sex offender. He is accused of raping his little brother who is three years old.
-A seven and a half-year-old who is a perpetrator and pedophile, should he be accused of this? Should he have to participate in this, the father describes his reaction after the message.
Sexual behavior problems
The boy is moved to an on -call home, which also belongs to a relative of the mother.
The seven -year -old is then investigated by a clinic that specializes in children with deviant sexual behavior, off.Clinic included in the Humana Group.
In the assessment of the boy it says, among other things, that he plays “with toy guys in a sexual way”.

Off.Clinic’s investigators consider it that the boy has such great sexual behavioral problems that intensive treatment is needed.
The social service now decides that the boy must not have contact with his father throughout the care period, which is expected to last for one year.
The surroundings understand nothing.
– I would describe him as a happy, lively boy, who is always super social, loving. He likes to play, play with the children, like all seven -year -olds, says a relative of the family.
It also does not help that the boy tells both the social services and the police that he likes his father and that nothing is bad with dad.
The boy is isolated from his father and misses much of his schooling due to therapy.
Not play with the kids
At school he is not allowed to play with the other children, not shower with the classmates after the sport, and are marked by an adult for not being left alone with other children.
The father is trying to get the clinic’s investigation from his son, but they only disclose a heavily edited version where crucial information is disclosed.
The father requests that the social services investigate whether the boy has been affected by adults in his surroundings.
– It’s not his own words. There is someone else who tried to get him to tell something he can’t do, says the father.
The social service chooses not to start an investigation.
The mother applies for sole custody, but the district court goes on the father’s line and gives the father sole custody, a judgment set in both the High Court and the Supreme Court.
It makes no difference in the social services, which instead disputes the boy according to LVUInfocloselvulvu stands for the law with special provisions on the care of young people, and means that children can be forcibly disposed of if it is considered for the best interests of the child. care or accommodation and is run by the social services. -Home.
There he gets to live with his mother.
“My heart is broken”
Dad is not allowed to meet, talk or even send a postcard to his son he has sole custody of.
– We continue to make the assessment that he has been subjected to sexual abuse, says the social services to the father, who recorded the conversation in secret.
By whom?
– By you.
During his time at the HVB home, the boy is off to the staff, saying that he feels lonely and that “it feels like my heart is broken”
After a few months, the boy is moved to a family home 30 miles from Helsingborg, without the mother.
A new healthcare company takes over, and considers that the best thing for the boy is to live a normal life with school, friends and everyday routines.
The boy is starting to feel better, and makes his own friends play with.
Not once does he show signs of the behavior that the investigator at Off.Clinic warned of.
After two years, the father is allowed to talk to his child for the first time, a short video call.
– The emotions were a little outside the body, some kind of joy that you got to talk to your child, but also a sadness, he says.
The turn
Meanwhile at the family home, the boy gets a new social secretary, and then the turnaround begins.
The father and the boy have not been physically met in three and a half years.
– I have found huge shortcomings in how you have handled the case, I am very sad for it. It is not professional, says the social secretary in a recording.
The new officer finds convincing evidence that the boy has been affected in his story about the alleged abuses, and that they have been pushed out by adults.
He believes that there is no basis for the charges against the father and the boy.
It turns out in “Assignment Review” that the social services have omitted crucial testimony from the boy and his little brother to both police and court.
In the testimonies in Off.Clinic’s investigation, the children clearly deny to have performed or exposed to all types of abuse.

May come home
Finally, the boy is allowed to move home to Helsingborg and spend time with his father.
He has been 13 years old, and has been away from his family for six years.
– It feels unreal, it has been so much sadness and anger. When this day came it became more like, it is true or I dream, says the dad.
– He has lost part of his childhood, he has lost the opportunity to participate in important development areas. It becomes like an abuse in itself, says Fil. Dr. In psychology, Johan Melander Hagborg.
The social services in Helsingborg will now investigate the handling of the case, focusing on the staff who made the decisive decisions on the boy’s care.
– That you can just do this and then “oh, we did wrong”, I will be able to melt for a long time, says the dad.
SVT’s “Assignment Review” has applied for Off.Clinic, which has declined to comment on reference to patient confidentiality.
