From the Israeli side, it is confirmed that an operation was carried out in the Jenin refugee camp. The attack came just hours after two people were injured when a man opened fire on a vehicle in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
Tensions have been high in the conflict-ridden region for some time, but escalated even more in early April when violence broke out at the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The incident was followed by rockets being fired from Lebanon and Gaza, which in turn were answered by airstrikes by the Israeli Air Force.
