The police have arrested seven people after a check in an apartment in Hjulsta in Stockholm.
The arrest took place at 01.10 on the night of Monday.
– We did a check of a home and in connection with that, weapons were found and all seven who were in the home were arrested and are now suspected of serious weapons crime, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.
It is unknown if the arrest is related to yesterday’s incident in Tensta – where the police fired warning shots – when eight people were arrested on suspicion of aggravated weapons offenses following an alarm about people seen with a weapon-like object.
– It is far too early to say. The arrest is part of our work that we have done in the area. We have had extra police officers out all day gathering information to increase security, says Carina Skagerlind.
The home is cordoned off for a technical examination and a preliminary investigation into serious weapons crime has been initiated.
