Over a thousand visits to the toilet – discovered by chance • “Terribly violating privacy”
A man filmed thousands of toilet visits at his workplace before the “spy camera” was discovered. Now he is charged with offensive photography of six women, reports SVT Skåne.
– It is terribly privacy-infringing, says Cecilia Andersson, who is the prosecutor in the case, to the channel.
When the hidden camera was discovered in the toilet at a workplace in Hässleholm, a male employee had exposed several colleagues for several years. But one female colleague in particular was particularly vulnerable. She had been filmed over 1,200 times over two years, reports say SVT Skåne.
The man has admitted that he filmed the colleagues with the help of the hidden camera that he mounted on the trash can – via a hole in the garbage bag.
– It is terribly privacy-infringing, says Cecilia Andersson, who is the prosecutor in the case, to the channel.
The man tells during questioning that he set up the camera at the beginning of the work shift, and then took it down when he finished his shift.
It is not clear what the man used the films for.
Camera in the dressing room
When a colleague discovered the camera, it could be directly linked to the man. He had also been caught on film when he set up the camera.
It later turned out that the man had also set up cameras in a changing room at the workplace.
Now the man is charged with offensive photography against a total of six women.
He is also charged with child pornography offenses when the police found child pornography on his computer during a house search. Something the man denies.
