The idea of An’Pagay was born in the incubator of the classy trance-identity label bongo-joeon the occasion of a meeting for the recording of an anniversary compilation: the meeting between Pixvae and Ti’Kaniki.
The new crewAn’Pagay signs a crashing landing on the track of globalized music with his first album Somin Tegor. At the crossroads of the worlds, here is a new explosive encounter whose power of deflagration extends between the continents. The intrepid collective of Cie 4000 presents us with a new hybrid creature, of which it holds the manufacturing secrets, hidden somewhere between the waters of the Indian Ocean and the Mascarenes.
Between the colombian crunch from Pixvae and the Creole energies of maloya from Reunion Island, a burning alloy has taken place between musicians ready to shake up the codes. An’Pagay forms a new family, wide open to the traditions that make it grow and to the additives that make it vibrate. The name of this founding opus is not insignificant.
Somin Tegor is a street in Saint-Benoit, a town in Reunion where the composer-singer-musician Luc Moindranzé Karioudja grew up before flying off to other horizons… reminder of the fertile ground that allows this swerve towards this new electric maloya mixed with post rock and other improbable spices.
With complex and moving melodic lines written by Luc Moindranzé Karioudja, he is the expert es musical crunches Romain Dugelay who operates to offer polyrhythmic counterpoints from the best of his barrels. With them, a joyful band of skimmers from the warm seas: an insane rhythm with two exceptional drummers, a bass player with big sensitive strings and two magician singers.
