Serverdown for Update 7.1.5.1 – All times and info

Destiny 2 has announced Update 7.1.5.1, which brings some changes and improvements. In order to install these updates, however, the servers must be temporarily shut down. MeinMMO informs you about everything about the planned maintenance work.

What you need to know today: Update 7.1.5.1 for Destiny 2 is scheduled for today, July 25th, during Diver Season 21. The maintenance work is routine and should therefore not take long. However, players will also be temporarily unable to access the game.3

5:15 p.m.: Bungie has taken its servers offline. So the maintenance has started and you’ll have to wait a while before you can get back into the game.

4:00 p.m.: Destiny 2 has started maintenance. So players should prepare to be kicked out of their current activity in about an hour. We have given you the exact times of the maintenance further down in the article.

We’ll keep you up to date with a live ticker during the server outage. So keep an eye out for updates to this article.

A new in-game news system? This last support message from Bungie was communicated via Twitter “X”. But since Elon Musk took over the service, unregistered users can no longer see the tweets on the platform and would first have to create an account.

Players have therefore asked Bungie whether an in-game message and update system would not be a better solution. And the developer replied that they are looking for solutions.

The summer event is currently shining in the game and this is where the new armor shines. But many a Guardian had to look closely to even perceive its white glow in 2023.

Maintenance on 07/25 – All server down times

These times are important today: As always, today’s update will be released for all platforms, i.e. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. According to current planning, the planned downtime is 1 hour and 45 minutes. Last week, Bungie’s schedule also worked extremely smoothly.

MeinMMO will be monitoring the server down and will regularly update this article with the latest information from Bungie Support. Even if the times should change.

Here is the exact schedule for today’s maintenance in Destiny 2:

  • 4:00 p.m.: Background maintenance starts on all platforms.
  • 5:15 p.m.: Bungie will take the servers offline. Players are automatically kicked out of the game.
  • During the downtime, update 7.1.5.1 will be installed and then gradually rolled out.
  • 7:00 p.m.: The expected login should be possible again in time for the weekly reset.
  • The maintenance will then run in the background until 8:00 p.m. This means that you should still expect a slight “server hiccup” during this time.
  • Important: As long as the background maintenance is running, there may be connection problems in the game. In addition, there may be queues when logging in immediately after the update.

Also keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app will not be accessible correctly for a certain period of time, so they cannot be used.

This changes with Update 7.1.5.1 in Season 21

When Destiny 2 is offline, Guardians will not be able to log into the game for a while.

That brings the hotfix today: As always, Bungie is working on the list of known and confirmed issues. Here’s a quick rundown of what Bungie might be fixing today:

  • The “Flame Keeper” event challenge is showing an incorrect icon in the event map.
  • The Crowning Dialogue rocket launcher does not appear in Collections.
  • The Sunlight armor sets are not appearing in Collections.
  • There is an issue with igniting armor that is preventing some players from completing their Solstice quests and creating a persistent popup with instructions.
  • Several mods are currently disabled in the game:
  • General Purpose Kickstart: An orb of power grants 1 temporary armor charge.
  • Detonation Burst: Grants class ability energy on damage with a grenade.
  • Impact Induction: Damage with melee attacks reduces grenade cooldown.
  • Momentum Transfer: Damage with grenades reduces melee cooldown.
  • Focus Attack: Grants class ability energy from melee attack damage.
  • Blocking with the Arc Staff Super while using the Hunter’s Exotic Headguard Rot Ranger unintentionally consumes additional Super Energy.
  • Certain sights on the Judgment handgun have lost their red dot.
  • The Shining Paragon Guardian Games Sparrow cannot be obtained from the Collections. The Wisher exotic bow does not reliably shoot through the shields of the Cabal and Hydra.
  • Player name changes are not infinitely customizable through bungie.net. Several “Number Guardians” continue to wait here for the option to change their player name again, instead of getting the “You don’t have any name changes available” message.
  • If you have noticed any errors in the game that are not listed here, you are welcome to report them in our comments section.
