Serverdown for Season 21 Update 7.1.0 – Take a breath for all patch notes and info

Today Destiny 2 reveals the second season of Lightfall DLC. Season 21 will take players back to Titan and presumably to depths untold. But before that happens, the guardians expect a server down that will bring the new content online. MeinMMO informs you about the downtimes.

Update history for update 7.1.0:

7:00 p.m.: The update should be here soon. Then you can also discover these three jewels in the new Season 21. Practical: Your Warlock no longer falls over in a handstand.

6:45 p.m The patch notes have been released. So you can browse in advance what is changing. You can find the link to it at the end of this article. Season 21 also appears to have fixed a number of issues.

18:05: Who would have thought that Destiny 2 would be fishing instead of shooting? At the very least, this activity is considered very relaxing—perhaps just right for stressed Wardens.

Meanwhile, the servers will be offline until at least 7:00 p.m. We will keep you informed of possible queues or new information in this article.

Perfect for stressed guardians: a round of fishing

6:00 p.m.: While you wait for the servers to come back online, here are some first impressions of the new Season 21 weapons. The setting is aquatic and the weapons possessed.

17:30: Now it’s time to wait, because before you can dip your feet in the water, Bungie still has to make the new content available. The servers are expected to be live again at 7:00 p.m. Tell us: Are you trying to log in right away? Or do you save it on patch day?

17:00 o’clock: The brand new season trailer is here and reveals what players can expect in Destiny 2 over the next three months – and yes, it’s actually going into the water!

4:00 p.m.: Bungie just started background maintenance. Now there is only an hour left until all Guardians can watch the new season trailer. Are you excited too?

As a sneak peek, the new seasonal activity is rumored to be called The Deep, with weekly dive missions, and is set to consist of three increasingly challenging activities. And fishing also seems to play a role.

What you need to know today: Fresh content awaits the players in Destiny 2 today in the form of the new seasonal story for the second Lightfall season 21. It has already caused a lot of discussion in advance with its underwater setting.

  • In terms of content, there is also a new dungeon that starts in Season 21 on May 26th at 7:00 p.m. However, this must be purchased separately if you do not already have the all-content Lightfall plus annual pass edition.
  • However, before the guardians can discover this new content, they have to do without the loot shooter and the associated functions for a while for the duration of the server down. After all, the waiting time will be sweetened for you today by the official trailer.

Maintenance on 05/23 – All times to the server down

These times are important today: Bungie has informed players of the exact times via Twitter. The planned downtime is currently 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Here is the exact maintenance schedule:

  • At 4:00 p.m. German time, maintenance work will start in the background on all platforms.
  • From 5:15 p.m. the servers will go offline and players will be automatically kicked from all activities.
  • Update 7.1.0 will be rolled out on all platforms during this time and can be downloaded.
  • The expected login should then be possible again around 7:00 p.m. if everything goes well.
  • Continuous background maintenance will end at 20:00 if all goes well. During this time, however, you can already play the new Season 21.
  • Important: As long as the background maintenance is running, there may be connection problems in the game again and again. You may also have to expect queues when logging in immediately after the update.

Also, keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app may also not be accessible correctly for a while, preventing you from using them.

That changes with Update 7.1.0 in Season 21

Continuation of the Lightfall story and season content: In terms of story, players in Season 21 go to Titan seasonally. From there, the guardians received an emergency call from Deputy Commander Sloane, who was thought to be missing.

In the teaser image you can see that she is apparently possessed and one is left wondering what happened to her. In addition, she seems to have found a new friend who lives in the depths of Titan’s methane sea.

What happened to Sloane and who is watching her?

Here the glaive Winter’s Bite revealed that it is an enemy of the Witness. It will be interesting to see if this being can become the Vanguard’s last hope of freeing the Traveler from the Witness’ grasp.

However, those who have decided not to buy the second Lightfall Season 21 due to the price increase will also get new content. Here Bungie announced that there will be an important quest that will be available to all players who have purchased Lightfall. The quest will reward with the legendary handgun which was already very present on the Lightfall cover.

Have you ever wondered when this weapon will come into play?
  • During this quest, players will explore the city to learn more about the nature of the Veil through Osiris’ research and newly uncovered data from the Ishtar Collective.
  • As a reward for completing the final step, players will gain access to three new strand aspects (one per class).
  • What else can players expect in Season 21? For more changes coming in Season 21, check out our Destiny 2 Season 21 overview article.

Retrieve your old rewards: Before the servers go offline, players should also ensure that they have collected all earned but unclaimed rewards from their previous Season Pass page (you must be logged in to Bungie) for the Season of the Seraph. Because rewards from the previous Season Pass can only be claimed up to one season after the end of the valid season.

So, as soon as the Season of the Deep servers go offline today, May 23, 2023 at 5:15 p.m., the previous Season Pass will also be updated with the Season of the Resistance rewards.

You can claim the rewards from the Tower and HELM traders. However, Bungie announced in the forum that the engrams at the war table will not disappear at the end of the season.
