What happens during an update? Today Epic Games is taking down the servers for maintenance. You won’t be able to play Fortnite during the downtime, so be prepared.
According to leakers, there will be no new content in the update this time. Rather, this patch is intended to fix bugs that crept in with the release of Chapter 5 Season 3. You can find out when you can expect the downtime and how long it will last from us.

Fortnite: Start and duration of server down
Server down in the morning – What you need to know: Epic Games has announced its server downtime for Fortnite and has set it at 10:00 a.m. German time. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before the servers are shut down – so you will no longer be able to start new rounds during this time.
When will the servers be back online? This depends on the size and scope of the update. If there are no complications, you can expect a one-hour downtime. However, it could also be that the server is not down until around 12:00 or 1:00 p.m. We will keep you updated in this case.
When will the patch notes be released? Epic Games currently only sporadically publishes its patch notes for the “Battle Royale” mode. If they are available, they will only be published after the downtime. We will list the patch notes for you as soon as Epic Games has published them.
