Serious legionella infection detected at residence in Borås

During the past year, the environmental administration has found deficiencies in all nursing homes in Borås. After an inspection, the municipality was able to determine that there are insufficient routines to prevent legionella and therefore decided on a requirement for sampling in all residences.

It is now clear that the water at the residence Våglängdsgatan 153 shows elevated levels of legionella.

– There is no danger for our residents in view of the measures we have taken, says Susanne Blid Roos, director of operations for nursing homes, to the newspaper.

None of the residents have contracted or shown symptoms of the disease. The municipality is now working according to the routines developed at the accommodation during the autumn.
