According to the region, the development must be reversed quickly, and to get there, several investments are now being made. Initiatives such as subsidized primary vaccination against TBE for adults, establishment of BB reception LiM and expanded mobile X-ray are proposed to cease on July 1 later this summer. In total, the region expects that the measures will save 20 million kroner for the whole year, and it is the withdrawal of subsidized vaccination that saves the most – 15 million kroner.
– In the situation we are in, we need to dare to prioritize and reconsider previous decisions. The money is simply not enough. We will therefore revoke the decision on subsidized basic TBE vaccination for adults, which is new since the turn of the year. We believe that children are prioritized and should continue to be included in the subsidy, but that adults must pay full price, i.e. 400 kroner per dose instead of 200 kroner per dose, says Fredrik Sjöstrand (M), chairman of the health care board in a press release.
In addition, the region is planning a review of the co-payments for sick trips. The proposal could mean that the cost of today’s SEK 80 could be increased to SEK 120 from January 1 next year.
