Malmö district court sentences long prison sentences after five robberies against women who work in the escort industry. The women have been threatened verbally and with weapons. Some of them have been subjected to violence and rape, Malmö District Court writes in a press release.
The longest sentence, eight years in prison, is given to a man convicted of five robberies and one rape. According to the court, he had a central role in the planning and execution of the crimes. Another man is sentenced to six years in prison and two younger defendants are sentenced to closed youth care and youth supervision, respectively.
The vulnerable women are awarded damages of between SEK 28,000 and 245,000 each.
