This morning MAPFRE and the RFET expressed the insurer’s support for the continuity of Spanish tennis in a meeting. In it, the insurer, the main sponsor of Spanish tennis, has been informed, the renewal of the two captains of our most representative teams. Sergi Bruguera will continue to lead the Spanish MAPFRE Davis Cup Tennis Team, and Anabel Medina will do the same with the Spanish MAPFRE BJKC Tennis Team.
This meeting has had the participation of José Manuel Inchausti, Vice Chairman of MAPFRE and CEO of MAPFRE IBERIA, and the president of the RFET, Miguel Díaz Roman, among others.
At the informal breakfast, which took place at the MAPFRE training center (Monte del Pilar Campus), José Manuel Inchausti, Raúl Costilla, general director of business and clients at MAPFRE ESPAÑA, and Javier Oliveros, commercial director of the entity, among other directors of the insurer, They have been able to see first-hand the plans of our elite teams, which face short-term challenges.
On March 4 and 5, Spain disputes the Davis Cup tie against Romania in Marbella (Puente Romano). Our players travel to the Netherlands on April 15 and 16 to play the first round of the Billie Jean King Cup.
Likewise, the president of the RFET has been able to explain in person to the directors of the MAPFRE company, the sports plans for this 2022. The challenge will be to maintain the high level of international competition in Spain.
