A Russian-Ukrainian man is sentenced to a long prison term in Russia accused of collaborating with Ukraine.
The man is sentenced to 22 years in prison for terrorist crimes and treason. According to the accusations, he has handed over information about Russian infrastructure to Ukraine and tried to blow up a local party office.
The verdict comes in a Russian military court in the border region of Kursk, where Ukraine continues to hold an area occupied.
The 30-year-old man is described in court as primarily Ukrainian. According to the court, he detonated an explosive charge in the party office’s reception.
– There were really no injuries, it is too harsh a punishment, he said when the verdict was handed down, adding that it will be appealed.
