Sent letter to the prime minister – demands a quick solution in the Fosen case

More than two years have passed since the Supreme Court of Norway ruled that the country is committing violations of international law when the wind farm in Fosen was built in the middle of reindeer pasture.

Despite that, they still haven’t reached a solution where a few weeks ago they had new meetings without any decisions being made.

Now the reindeer herders in Nordfossen have sent a letter to Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre asking for a quick solution, reports NRK Sápmi.

Nordfosen states in the letter that despite long deliberations and mediation, no progress has been made in the matter.

In the letter, they also write that it is the state and Statkraft that are the key to ending the violations of human rights, which they state that after more than two years have become a disgrace for Norway and for Statkraft as a company.
