Clashes erupted Monday in Ziguinchor in the south of the country and in several districts of Dakar on the eve of the announced new trial of Ousmane Sonko. The opponent must in principle appear this Tuesday in Dakar against Adji Sarr, a former employee of a massage parlour, who accuses him of repeated rapes and death threats for more than two years. The leader of the Pastef party and presidential candidate scheduled for February 2024 has always denounced “a political plot”. He had already said that he no longer intended to “collaborate with justice”.
