On Friday, August 16, Senegal reached a historic milestone by sending into space its first satellite designed and manufactured by Senegalese engineers. This satellite, a small 10 cm cube weighing about one kilogram, was launched aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from the Montpellier University Space Center in France.
