In Senegal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejects reports of the disappearance at sea of at least 300 migrants on their way to the Canary Islands: “devoid of any foundation”, according to its press release published on Tuesday July 11. The ministry says that “260 Senegalese in distress have been rescued in Moroccan territorial waters” since June 28. The Spanish NGO Caminando Fronteras had nevertheless alerted to the disappearance of three boats leaving Senegal, including one from Kafountine, in Casamance.
