Seger and Asllani out of the starting eleven

In recent years, Sweden’s regular midfield has often consisted of Caroline Seger, Filippa Angeldahl and Kosovare Asllani.

But when the soccer ladies today play their penultimate international match before the summer’s World Cup squad is to be selected, everyone starts on the bench.

Instead, it will be Everton’s Hanna Bennison who competes with Brighton’s Julia Zigiotti Olme, and just ahead of them, Hammarby’s Madelen Janogy takes the place of Asllani.

That neither Seger nor Asllani start is not entirely unexpected after all. Caroline Seger recently made a comeback after a long injury layoff, and Asllani came to the gathering with a feeling.

The goal is guarded by Chelsea’s Zecira Musovic, who thus gets the chance in front of Häcken’s Jennifer Falk.

This national team gathering is the last before leaving for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in July. After the match against Denmark, the Swedish team travels to Gothenburg for the match against Norway on Tuesday.

This is how Sweden starts (4–3–3): Zecira Musovic – Hanna Lundkvist, Nathalie Björn, Magdalena Eriksson, Anna Sandberg – Hanna Bennison, Madelen Janogy, Julia Zigiotti Olme – Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, Stina Blackstenius, Fridolina Rolfö.

Substitutes: Jennifer Falk (mv), Tove Enblom (mv), Jonna Andersson, Linda Sembrant, Amanda Nildén, Matilda Vinberg, Kosovare Asllani, Sofia Jakobsson, Emma Kullberg, Rebecka Blomqvist, Filippa Angeldahl, Caroline Seger, Olivia Schough.
