Armand Duplantis never remembers the tragic event of 2018.
Now he becomes an ambassador for Missing People.

Armand Duplantis was just about to break through on the international stage when the tragic event unfolded. In a press release, it appears that the mother of a close friend of Armand Duplantis disappeared without a trace during that summer. A large search effort was launched, but no explanation was ever given as to what had happened.

Four years have passed, and Armand Duplantis has grown into one of the world’s most superior athletes. He has broken world records, won Olympic gold and is perhaps Sweden’s most popular athlete. But he never forgets the summer of 2018.
Therefore, Armand Duplantis will now, it appears in a press release, become the new ambassador for Missing People, which is a voluntary and non-profit search organization.
– I have seen up close how difficult it is when a person just disappears. There, Missing People makes an important contribution to society, not least as help and support to the relatives, says Armand Duplantis.
“Of course to help”
Armand Duplantis hopes he can make a difference. Missing People is present in about 20 regions, and in addition to 300 trained volunteers, there are approximately 70,000 volunteers within the organization.
– If, in my role as ambassador, I can contribute and help others who have found themselves in the same life situation, I will of course do so, says Armand Duplantis.
Armand Duplantis now joins, among others, Björn Ulvaeus and Lars Lerin as ambassadors.
– Our ambassadors are selected because they have a strong commitment and a big heart for people who have found themselves in a difficult situation. I am happy that Armand, who in addition to his big heart is also very fond of people, has chosen to support us by becoming one of our proud ambassadors, says chairman of the board Samuel Persson.
