See when Per-Erik, 91, is allowed to trot again: “I feel it in my heart”

Per-Erik Strandberg has had an interest in horses all his life. But he hasn’t been able to keep it up for many, many years – until now. At Sundbyholm’s racetrack north of Eskilstuna, he finally got to sit behind the horse again.
– If you knew what this feels like in my heart, he says.

On Nyhetsmorgon’s trot Wednesday, reporter Per Skoglund went out to the Sundbyholm trot.

The theme is “horses for everyone”, and this Wednesday he took Per-Erik Strandberg, 91, on an unforgettable experience.

– The smell of horses in it. And that’s something I’ll never forget, says Per-Erik when he arrives at the stables.

“Missing on many, many occasions”

Sundbyholm’s trotting school invests in everyone being able to trot. They have specially adapted carts that are perfect for rolling a wheelchair into.

– This is the life that I have missed on many, many occasions.

“A great day”

After a round with the horse Doblo on the competition track, the ride received the highest rating.

– This was a great day.

– And what a coachman! says trotting reporter Per Skoglund.

– It would have been 10, 15, 20 years ago. Oh, the tears flow from sheer well-being. Yes, above all well-being, says Per-Erik Strandberg.
