In the summer’s last Lotta at Liseberg, Sweden’s women’s national team is celebrated for their efforts during the World Cup – and Sunday’s round of 16, where they knocked out the USA.
– We send a little pep to them on the other side of the globe, says Lotta Engberg.
On Sunday, Sweden’s ladies knocked the reigning world champions, the USA, out of the World Cup. The round of 16 ended in penalties which Sweden ultimately won – where only a millimeter margin took Sweden through to the quarter-finals. After a real shiver, in other words.
“Sending some pep to those on the other side of the globe”
Now the women’s national team is being celebrated for their super effort during the summer’s very last Lotta at Liseberg, with a sing-along medley dedicated to them!
– Aren’t we very proud? Yes, we are! We send some cheer to those on the other side of the globe. Hang on, because what do we want for anything? We want goals, goals, goals! says host Lotta Engberg to a cheering audience before she starts the evening’s tribute.
It will be a medley of Markoolio’s classics “Mera mål” and “In med bollen”, and “Champione 2000” by E-Type and the official WC song “Our song” by Miss Li. The dancers are dressed in Sweden’s match kit and large footballs are passed around in the audience!
