See the last ferry trip across the Vallsundet – the bridge at the end of a 352-year ferry era

Admittedly, the ferry only took about seven minutes to cross the strait, but that doesn’t include queuing time. And not least in rush hour traffic, there could sometimes be frustratingly long car queues to get on board the ferry.

On the same day that the Vallsund Bridge was inaugurated, the 352-year long ferry era across the strait also passed into the grave.

– The bridge is beautiful, but it is also sad. It’s nice to be able to take the ferry one last time, said Inga-Britt Eriksson, who took the last ferry.
