The Italian football championship belongs to Napoli. The 33-year wait is over in southern Italy and the supremacy of the northern cities in the main league has been broken again.

Napoli secured their scudetto, the Italian championship, on Thursday by playing a draw in Udine with Udinese. According to the information, there were more than 13,000 Neapolitan supporters on the spot in eastern Italy.

The championship is the blue shirts’ third in the entire history of the club, as well as the first without their revered legend Diego Maradona.

Napoli’s historic championship got the team’s fans moving before and after the decisive match. Supporters gathered with the strength of 50,000 spectators to watch the Udinese match that decided the championship on the video boards at Napoli’s home stadium.

Napoli’s championship was decided in Udine, where 13,000 supporters of the team had traveled.

After the match ended and the championship was decided, the jubilation broke out and hundreds of fans ran onto the field.

The security arrangements failed once more, as Udinese supporters were also able to enter the field, and clashes were inevitable.

– After the game, there was quite a bit of chaos on the field when even the home fans got there. Moni tried to run away back to the stands. I hope the team didn’t break any bones, the Udinese supporters hit the away supporters with belts and flagpoles. A bad-looking row arose and there were fights, but the city was calm when I left the stadium, Urheilu’s editor Jussi Vainikka told from the spot about Udine.

In Naples, the party continued through the night.
