See the cheers from Sölvesborg when Sweden takes WC bronze

For the fourth time in history, and the second championship in a row, Sweden has taken bronze in the women’s soccer World Cup. Sweden won against Australia 2–0 in a match where Kosovare Asllani was a big protagonist.

– We won a medal today, and I am proud of the effort we are making, says the team captain to Viaplay.

Greetings from the national team’s Amanda Ilestedt

The match was followed by a large audience on a large screen at Stortorget in Sölvesborg. There was no doubt that the city’s own Amanda Ilestedt was a big favorite among the spectators.

– We are so proud of Amanda, she has done such a good WC, says Lina Yeates, who was there to cheer on her favourite.

Before the match, Amanda Ilestedt had sent a greeting to her hometown:

“It will feel extra fun to have the support from Sölvesborg with you for the match. Especially when you think that the home team comes with roughly 80,000 fans in the stands.”
