JYVÄSKYLÄ.

The biggest excitement on the final day of the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship is the fight for third place. Hyundai’s Teemu Suninen and Toyota Takamoto Katsuta fighting for the last podium place.

In the morning, Suninen started chasing Katsuta, who was 6.4 seconds behind. In the morning’s opening in Moksi-Sahloinen, Suninen was able to gain two seconds. Himos, however, came back to the coat.

Suninen thoroughly shook both the people and the expert at Ralliradio Henri Haapamäki. The Finnish driver pulled wide on the descent of the skiing center and also hit advertising banners.

– Whoah whoah, what a wild situation! Haapamäki roared on Ralliradio.

Haapamäki asked Suni about the situation during the assembly break before the race-ending Power Stage at Himos.

– The company was right. Tried to tear up all the difference that could be taken. There are no clear corners on the downhill, but you can cut and go a little wide, Suninen said about his tactics on Ralliradio.

Suninen started the morning of the final day with a risky tactic, i.e. without a single spare tire. Everything was put into play so that the Finn would reach the podium.

However, now the difference is 6.3 seconds before the last special test.

– The morning started well. That pace would have been enough. Taka was then able to match the speed and control the situation, Suninen said.

Himos left a couple of points to dig about Sun.

– There were two or three slads. We were on the side of the ditch. It took a bit of time, but you can’t stop trying, Suninen said.

With the decision of the organizers of the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship, you can now change tires for the Power Stage.

– Two mechanics are allowed to come and change the tires, but with the tools in the cars, Suninen described.

Suninen also has Finnish rally history as a contribution. The 72nd Finnish World Rally Championship is now being organized. Only three times before in the rally’s history have there been no Finns on the podium.
