The Swedish championship was the fourth consecutive one for Luleå IF. Gold only settled this time in the fifth final against Brynäs.

Luleå IF celebrates the Swedish Women’s Hockey Championship for the fourth time in a row. In the final series, the championship team won Brynäs 3–2. As many as six Finns play in Luleå, who also rose to an important role in the final match.
Luleå won the decisive fifth final 5-2. Finnish striker Petra Nieminen scored 4-2 and 5-2 goals for the away team Viivi Vainikan from the feed. Nieminen scored the latter.
Nieminen also became the champion of the championship a year ago. Even then, Brynäs was up against.
The match played in Brynäs’ home trough Gävle was sold out: it was watched on the spot by almost 8,000 spectators. Due to the distance of more than 700 kilometers, there were clearly fewer spectators in Luleå than supporters of the home team.
In Luleå, in addition to Nieminen and Vainika, acquaintances from the Lioness play Jenni Hiirikoski, Ronja Savolainen, Noora Tulus and Jenna Pirttijärvi. Everyone except Pirttijärvi played for the bronze-winning Finnish team at the Beijing Olympics in February.
Brynäs goalkeeper Eveliina Mäkinen popped into the trough in the fifth final. The Finnish captain also played in Brynäs, who won the regular season Rosa Lindstedt.
