A security guard was shot in the legs outside a nightclub in Uppsala. Now a man in his 20s who was charged with shooting the guard has been acquitted, local media reports.

The shooting drama occurred in December 2021. The guard was on his way to work when he was shot.

The suspect was arrested a few hours after the shooting. He had previously been escorted out of the nightclub after behaving in a disorderly manner there.

The man was charged with attempted murder. Among other things, he was also charged with aggravated weapons offense after the police found a loaded gun on him on another occasion.
