In his speech, Christophe Mboso, President of the National Assembly, said that the lower house of parliament will closely follow issues relating to the well-being of the population as well as the socio-economic development of the country. But the opposition ardently wishes a debate on the reduction of the standard of living of the institutions.
MP Delly Sesanga, president of the Envol party, said: “ From what I am learning, what we are going to be given as collective budget indicates that we have consumed, through operations, the bulk of the appropriations that have been mobilized by the increase in resources. I believe there is talk, but there is a lack of will. »
On the side of the majority, the deputy Jacques Djoli hopes that the issues of the fight against armed groups, and particularly the liberation of the city of Bunagana, occupied by the combatants of the M23will also be during the debates: That urgent measures be taken regarding Bunaganaand other substantial military measures taking into account the question of the creation of the East African force. »
On this issue, submitting the 2023 draft budget to the office of the National Assembly, on the sidelines of this inaugural plenary, the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama, tried to reassure: “ We are in aggression and we also have other security situations to carry out everywhere, on the extent of the Republic. This is the sector in which we wanted to show our will. »
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is also awaiting urgent processing of the law on voter identification.
