Ryan Reynolds has wanted to play the unconventional anti-hero Deadpool from the Marvel series since 2004 (via Screen Rant). But the path was rocky and long. Because the brutal and crazy superhero meant a risk for the studio. It was only after the failed Deadpool in the first Wolverine film and leaked video test footage that was quickly hyped by fans that the studio gave the green light.
This year, Deadpool & Wolverine, a long-awaited crossover, was released and, despite an R rating, broke the billion-dollar barrier at the box office. If you can’t get enough of the bitter humor, you should all three parts in the 4K collection * save for home cinema.
The 3-Movie Collection will be released on November 8, 2024 and you can pre-order it now. You can expect over five and a half hours of superhero action in the best 4K quality. As bonus material, you can look forward to various audio commentaries on all three films.
2.8 billion Deadpool franchise is crying out for part 4
In 2016, Ryan Reynolds brought a breath of fresh air to the MCU. As Deadpool, the superhero pursues more selfish motives than his selfless colleagues. With bitter humor and a lot of brutality he quickly became a fan favorite. Added to this is the meta level, which gives Deadpool a lot of creative freedom and takes aim at his own MCU.
By networking the entire series, there were numerous cameo appearances in the last three films, including mega stars like Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. Tricks are sometimes used, so Chris Hemsworth appears in a dramatic scene in Deadpool & Wolverine, without even being on set and only found out about his appearance after the film was released.
In the last part, Channing Tatum shot the bird as Gambit and also caused fits of laughter on the set. The $2.8 billion franchise is crying out for a fourth part, which Ryan Reynolds has already commented on.
It remains to be seen whether there will be a sequel, but as long as you can bring the entertaining action into your own living room with the Deadpool Collection.
