“Sect” built a gallows hill where they would execute local politicians

It was during the spring of 2023 that around fifty employees in Gullspång municipality received an unusual email. In what is described as the “summons”, it says that the recipients must appear on a Zoom link where a trial will be held.

The senders demand, among other things, that stolen children be returned and that vaccines be destroyed.

The email also states a date for their execution, 13/4 2023. The sender writes that this is when the Viking Age will begin again. Among those who received the “call” are politicians, civil servants and other people around Gullspång municipality.

Don’t believe in political systems

Behind the email is a group that calls itself “Gudalandet”, also known as the “Viking Sect”. The police describe them as “an almost cult-like group driven by conspiracy theories”. They do not believe in the political system and claim that the democrats in Sweden are not “legal”.

– What they want with this grouping, I find it difficult to explain more than that they seem to think that they should rule the country, some kind of idea about it, says Chamber Prosecutor Martin Westeröd to DN.

On a farm, the couple built an execution site. In a video that they published themselves, they show how decision-makers within the municipality should either be beheaded or hanged from the gallows.

Submitted assignments

It was to that place that around fifty employees in Gullspång municipality were invited. The threatening email caused a politician to leave his duties. Another describes in questioning that she no longer dares to go out on her own.

Those suspected of being behind the threats are an elderly man and a middle-aged woman. They are now being prosecuted in the Skaraborg district court after an investigation that has been going on for almost a year. They are charged with several cases of unlawful threats and threats against an official.

There are about thirty plaintiffs, most of whom claim damages of SEK 10,000. Neither the man nor the woman says they want a defense lawyer, according to DN.
