Gravik in the Secret Invasion trailer
There is a brief glimpse of Gravik twisting his arm into a tendril-like braid. The Skrull villain will apparently succeed in incorporating Groot’s powers with his machine. And with that, the series may have already confirmed that Gravik is in fact becoming a well-known villain from Marvel Comics: the super skull.
Who is Super-Skrull in Marvel Comics?
The character Gravik himself does not exist in the Marvel Comics. But someone else did: Yes the bionically modified Skrull named Super-Skrull, who also features in the 2008 Secret Invasion template by Brian Michael Bendis.

Super Skrull in the Marvel Comics
Super-Skrull first appeared in the Marvel Comics in 1963 as the villain of the Fantastic Four. His actual unpronounceable name is Kl’rt. Through scientific experiments, he was given all Implanted abilities of the Fantastic Fourwhich made him a superior opponent.
The Fantastic Four connection could also become important. The superhero family’s upcoming MCU debut is rumored to be without their most iconic nemesis, Doctor Doom. In his place, the Super-Skrull could now play a role and thus the debut of the Tie the Fantastic Four more closely to the existing MCU story.
Of course, all of this is still speculation at the moment. However, once the 6 episodes of Secret Invasion have aired, we will surely have a better idea of what plans the MCU may have in store for the Skrull in the future.
