COTHEN – The handball players of Fortissimo have booked their second win in a row in the Eredivisie on Sunday. The team from Cothen was stronger than Borhave in Borne in Overijssel with a minimal difference: 26-25.

Trainer Ronald van de Kamp: ‘This gives confidence’

Last week, trainer Ronald van de Kamp was angry after the 34-14 defeat at SEW. This was followed by a conversation between the selection and the staff, after which they surprisingly won 30-15 last Thursday while visiting V&L in Geleen.

That upward trend was continued on Sunday with a visit to Borhave, although the game against the bottom line was exciting. In the second half, Fortissimo was always on the right side of the score, after which the winning goal fell three seconds before the end.

Fortissimo puts number eight V&L under pressure

With the win, Fortissimo is number nine on 9 points from 17 points, which puts it on a level with number nine V&L. The Limburgers only have a better goal difference than the Cothense ladies.

That eighth place is important after the regular season, when the top eight will compete for the title. The bottom four play playoffs for relegation from the Eredivisie.
