Second straight podium in the World Cup for Filip Gravenfors

Also the second competition day in Val St. Come offered blue-yellow success.

Filip Gravenfors made it to the season’s first World Cup final in parallel hump and faced the toughest possible opposition: World Cup leader and home rider Mikaël Kingsbury.

The Canadian fell in the final yesterday, but took revenge last night after an exciting final.

Gravenfors took home the time points by being half a second faster at the finish line, and the judges then took their time before awarding the technical points. But then it was clear that Kingsbury had been awarded the victory.

Filip Gravenfors is now in third place in the overall World Cup and is the best Swede.

Yesterday’s winner Walter Wallberg survived the night’s competition with feeling in one knee, but aims to be back in the starting gate as early as next weekend when the World Cup circus moves on to Waterville, USA.
