On Valentine’s Day, the Norwegian national biathlon team took the opportunity to give a gift to the opponents from Sweden. It is safe to say that the gift was twofold, partly it came from the heart but it was also a jab at the Swedish team.
On the roses, the Norwegians had written, among other things, “spion rose” and “Yes, we love this country”.
One who was involved in carrying out the joke was the Norwegian biathlete Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen.

One who took it in stride was the Swedish star Hanna Öberg. But one who took it less well was Sebastian Samuelsson. In an interview with The Express he tells about the feelings after the Norwegian girl.
– I read what was written and then I quite quickly understood who was behind it and felt “no thanks”. And now the rose lies and withers somewhere, he says and adds:
– It was probably a little loving too, I think. But the Norwegians are a little less.
Hanna Öberg, on the other hand, said in the same interview that she accepted the whole thing as a fun thing and that the flowers are in a vase.
This is how Sweden wants to stop Norwegian dominance in biathlon: “Not good for the sport”
