Sebastian Samuelsson is aiming for the Biathlon World Cup in less than a month.
To have a chance at the gold medals, he has tested a new strategy this season.
– I don’t really think I’ve been in top form yet, so it’ll probably come, he says to SVT Sport.
He is called “Silver-Sebbe”, but the fact is that he has won both Olympic gold and WC gold. Now aim Sebastian Samuelsson27, towards a new world championship in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, February 12-23. This year he has tested a new tactic to be able to challenge for the medals again.
Sebastian Samuelsson’s new tactics
Samuelsson has had a decent start to the season with several fine placings. But he has not yet managed to achieve an individual victory. He’s still chasing that. This year, the 27-year-old has also changed his plan a little precisely in order to achieve greater success in the World Cup and also top his form in time for the WC.

Part of the strategy means that he should, in short, train harder, in order to last more and longer in the season.
– I have tried to have that as a strategy all year. I have seen that I gradually got in worse shape the longer the seasons went by, he tells SVT Sport.
Samuelsson was ill all Christmas
He says that the better trained you are during the season, the easier it is to cope when adversity comes.
– If you’re in bad shape, then it just gets sourer and sourer in your legs and you can’t really cope.

Unfortunately, Samuelsson suffered a setback at Christmas when he was ill during the break. Then he couldn’t keep in shape, and was forced to lie bedridden for a couple of days. So he has to start training hard again before the WC.
– I didn’t train anything during Christmas, so now I have to train a little. I don’t think I’ve really been in top shape yet, so it’ll probably come, he says.
Hey hey Sebastian! Hope you see the results of your hard training now directly in the World Cup and also in the WC in just under a month.
