In just over two minutes, the Carolina Hurricanes rose from a losing position to a wonderful victory and lead the New York Islanders to a 2-0 match win.
The Carolina Hurricanes, one of the NHL’s strongest championship favorites this season, have opened their playoff campaign convincingly. The Hurricanes already seemed to lose the second meeting of their series against the New York Islanders, but came away with a 5–3 victory at the very end.
Carolina now leads 2–0 when the series next moves to the home court of the New York Islanders.
The Islanders, who started strongly, led the match 3–0 at best, until Teuvo Teräväinen reduced to 1–3 in the second period with his first goal of the playoff spring.
