In the ice hockey NHL, the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Ottawa Senators, who hosted the match, by clear numbers. The match ended in favor of the visitors from North Carolina 4–1. The best player of the match was Sebastian Aho, who scored 2+1 in the second set in just over five minutes.

Aho, who broke his ineffective streak of four matches, scored a 2–1 winning goal with an accurate wrist shot in the middle of the second period. Teuvo Teräväinen got an assist on the goal. At the end of the set, Aho completed the 4–1 goal with a precise wrist shot.

Aho got himself an assist from Hurricanes’ Canadian forward by Seth Jarvis from scoring a goal, when the two escaped through the drive. Aho’s belt now has powers of 10+15=25 from this season.

The win snapped the Hurricanes’ four-game losing streak.

– We have to keep special situations in order. We are not satisfied with the way we have played recently and this was definitely a step in the right direction, Aho, who was chosen as the first star, commented after the match.

Goalkeeper for the Senators Joonas Korpisalo saved a total of 24/28 times.

The Finnish goal was also seen in the meeting between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Arizona Coyotes, while Arizona’s Matias Maccelli celebrated his fifth hit of the season with superiority. Maccelli scored his team’s second goal as Pittsburgh cruised to a 4–2 home win.
